Bio

Fort Lauderdale guitar lessons As a reputable professional, Dyce Kimura has risen to the top of the music scene with ease. Earning a full-time living teaching guitar lessons and performing only in churches and at Christian events, Dyce is realizing a musician's dream. Many of his performances are conducted with a full band at renowned music festivals, churches, outreach events and Christian cafes. Dyce plays exciting original songs, popular cover tunes and accompanies worship services. In his own words, Dyce proclaims "I'm giving the gift God has given me back to Him. I have dedicated my life to serving Him and my fellow man in this way."

At the young age of 19, Dyce Kimura left Japan for America with only a guitar on his back and a duffel bag full of clothes. His dream was to become a professional musician—something he realized only 2 years later when he became an established pro, playing sessions, teaching and gigging seven nights a week.

While Dyce's passion and diligence as a musician are powerful, the incredible highs and lows he has been through personally have given this singer, guitarist and songwriter one of the most honest, raw and unique musical voices on the scene today.

Looking back there was never a doubt Kimura would be anything but a musician. It was while visiting relatives in Japan he saw an old guitar in his grandparents' home: "I just knew right then I would be a guitarist." He pestered his mom to buy him a guitar and pay for lessons…from that point he never looked back."

Along the way, Dyce single-mindedly and ruthlessly pursed the conquest of being the best guitarist he could be in this lifetime, doing so at all costs. He was exposed to all the dangers the music scene provides and had to find his way out of the maze. At first, it was extremely difficult for him to pursue his passion for music while navigating his way through the drugs and 'characters' of the Fort Lauderdale music scene. Yet, eventually he found peace and fulfillment by serving in the church and playing spiritually-uplifting music while maintaining his sobriety.

Dyce has devoted his life to serving God via music. He has a powerful testimony about overcoming alcohol and substance abuse through faith. His dedication to God thru service of mankind shows others the endless possibilities available when they establish a relationship with God.

Weston Florida Guitar TeacherToday, Dyce is the Musical Director of Fort Lauderdale Shores Presbyterian Church and is on the worship team of Calvary Chapel, one of the country's five largest churches. He is also the worship director of a flourishing Wednesday night recovery bible study. Additionally, he writes for It's All in the Journey magazine, a nationally-distributed magazine with a circulation of 50,000. While Dyce doesn't have any regrets, he is far removed from his former life now and makes it a point to be a positive influence in the community, and in church. With all that he has accomplished already—and a few lifetimes worth of living to use as inspiration—whatever Dyce ends up doing next will be well worth the wait.
